Muhammad completed his basic and higher surgical training in Scotland rotating through Aberdeen and Dundee (North East of Scotland training scheme in Otolaryngology-head and neck surgery). He then spent 1 year at Manukau Super clinic, Auckland, NZ for his fellowship (2014-2015).
Since then he has been working as a consultant head & neck and thyroid surgeon at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. He has a subspecialty interest in salivary gland disorders and endolaryngeal surgery including laser resection of early stage laryngeal cancers.
Academically he has actively presented and published – full list of publications can be viewed in Pubmed / Researchgate. Muhammad takes a great interest in teaching undergraduate medical / nursing students and also takes part in sharing his knowledge with junior and senior colleagues.
